George Selter, Minelab 18000, largest nugget weighs 33dwt!

Rows one and two are Gold nuggets found by Wes Hawkins, and Okie using Minelab SD2200D's, 18000's and White's GM4's. The Button and Cabs are from the Sullivan Trove.

Row three is Wes Hawkins and son Kyle at Pioneer with Quartz Gold specimens he found near Auburn, CA, using a MineLab SD2200D, and White's GM4. Wes has been featured in White's brochures with nuggets found using the White's Goldmaster series of metal detectors.

Row four, two photos from Dennis Gyles, then "Big John," and the boys found 14.4 ounces of Gold at Horseshoe Bar, on the Middle Fork of the American River, near Auburn, California, on the last weekend of the 1999 dredging season. It will be a long winter for John and the boys, they are itching to return to the "glory hole," to finish dredging what they left behind. Does Big John look happy?

Row five is Franks chunk, Wes Hawkins quartz specimens, and Alaska prospector with his Gold.

Row six, Mick's final cleanup produced over 2.5 ounces of Gold. The Gold was found in the Auburn Ravine, located near Pioneer in the heart of California Gold Country! Close up photos of -100 mesh Gold recovered using the PMSI Blue Bowl. The Blue Bowl takes the tedium out of panning down flour Gold from Gold/Black-sand concentrates as evidenced in the photos above. Gold, nothing but the Gold! Dennis Gyles in two collages, and extreme right is from Bruce Metzler, Consumnes River, 2000 season.

Row seven, A great time was had by all! Pioneer and Gemstone continue to support and promote youth mining programs in the Auburn area and beyond. Contact frank or Mindy for details if you have a youth program interested in Gold prospecting.

Here is a picture of me and the new 3" dredge I purchased from Frank this past August. I still have my first high-banker I purchased from him several years ago.  However, I may never go back to it now that I have had a taste  of dredging. This shot was taken of me on Slate Creek out of La Porte, CA. I pulled out 19.62 pennyweight the first 4 days I used it. I'm already looking forward to next season. Best wishes to all of you at Pioneer Mining. Regards,Chuck
